Jennifer Coosemans. I can relate most to Jennifer because of our similar background, half-Chinese and half-Belgian, and I also grew up in a rural community. In addition, I admire her natural radiant beauty.
Your female role model and why:
Meghan Markle. She takes pride in being a strong confident woman of mixed ethnic heritage and has experienced many different walks of life including being a university student, a well-known actress and now currently the Duchess of Sussex.
What is the most beautiful object or incident in the world?
The feeling of success that is achieved through long, hard work and dedication
Which body parts are you most satisfied with?
My shoulder dimples. They are a part of me that is very unique, and I have yet to meet another person who also has dimples on their shoulders.
Do you have any expectations towards the Pageant?
Although I recognize that this experience will be challenging at times, I think the best reward I will get out of this amazing opportunity is meeting so many new incredible people. It is also a great way for me to gain a better understanding of myself.
What areas do you want to better yourself?
I would like to further improve my public speaking skills whilst also becoming more comfortable and confident in front of a camera on stage.
Reasons for joining the Pageant:
This Pageant is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am looking forward to learning many new things through challenging myself and stepping out of my comfort zone.
Why do you think you will excel at this Pageant and be “The One” for Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant?
With an outgoing and curious spirit, I enjoy pushing myself in new and challenging situations. I am confident that my motivation to always do my best will allow me to excel at this Pageant.
If you won this contest, how, as Miss Chinese Vancouver, would you contribute to the society and the world?
With my experience working in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, I would like to be a positive role model to our youth and encourage others to learn Chinese. In addition, I can share my experiences thus far to inspire young people to work hard for their goals as anything is possible regardless of where you come from.
