  • Growing up on a farm meant I also grew up around a lot of animals. From the chickens (and sometimes horses) we raised, to the wild deer and moose that would curiously wander into our farmyard, to the many adorable farm cats, life was always an adventure. However, out of all the animals my favourite was always our dog. This is our family's golden retriever, Roxy!

  • There are so many countries to explore in Europe! During my study term abroad in Europe, other than the Netherlands, I also went to Denmark, Belgium, Hungary and Spain. This picture was taken in the beautiful Eastern European city of Budapest!

  • If you haven't guessed by now, I'm half-Chinese and half-Canadian. However, my dad's side of the family are all from Belgium. While studying in the Netherlands, I went to visit my family's farm where my ancestors lived. The family farm is located near a small town called Esen on the west side of Belgium, about 70km out of the Belgian city Ghent.

  • While in Europe, I had the chance to visit a close childhood friend in Aarhus, Denmark. Katja is half-Chinese and half-Danish, and our moms grew up together as best friends in Guangzhou. The last time I had seen her was when I was three years old and went to visit Denmark with my mom.

  • Along the 50km bike ride through the countryside from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans, my friend and I got to see the famous Dutch windmills in this idyllic town.

  • In the spring of 2018, I had the amazing opportunity to study at the University of Amsterdam for a semester. My four and half months living in the Netherlands were filled with nothing but incredible memories and new lifelong friendships. Not only did I dive deep into life as an international student but I also experienced true Dutch culture.

  • I graduated from UBC this May with a degree in International Economics. I love learning and hope to pursue a Masters degree in the future!

  • 来温哥华之后,我很想念我家人。我们从小一起成长,分享了许多快乐的回忆。我右边是我哥哥 Jeremy25岁,左边是我妹妹Ashley16岁,我哥哥右边是他女朋友Hope。

  • As sports are a very important part in my life, after moving to BC I have taken full advantage of the beautiful mountains here. For the past three years I have had a season's pass at Whistler Blackcomb and try and go a few times a month during the ski season.

  • Throughout elementary, middle and high school I competed in track and field. In 2013 I placed third in the province for the 400m and 800m. In 2014, my relay team won the Provincial gold medal in the 4x400m. Outside of track, my favourite sport is volleyball. I've been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old, and I continued to play recreationally in university. In 2015, my club team competed in the Canadian Nationals tournament in Calgary.

  • Hello! For my first blog post I'd like to share a picture of little me. Growing up on a farm in Saskatchewan, my siblings and I loved to explore and play around the farmyard everyday.
